Step 7 - Be True to Your Desires.

Sunday, July 20th, 2008 by Debra Oakland

You have now read steps 1 to 6, ( archived under motivation in the category section of this website) and know what its like to experience the exhilarating feelings that motivation and success will bring you. You need to be true and honest with yourself. Have you applied these steps successfully?  If not, then reading these 7 simple steps has been a waste of time. There is absolutely no point in getting motivated and then putting it into a drawer and shutting it away because that’s where it will stay, shut away in the dark for ever. Be true to yourself and take action NOW, remember this, “if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got” so I will say it again, take action and take it NOW.

I can honestly say to you that when I first learned these simple steps to motivation and success I found it difficult to come to terms with how much I had not been true to myself previously, I felt guilty. Trying something new (step 6) I discovered hypnosis and how to visualize hypnotic images, sounds, smells and feelings whenever I needed to. These 7 steps are now the cornerstone of how I live my life and hand on heart I can tell you I haven’t looked back with any regrets whatsoever.  In fact, there is one regret, and that is I wish I had discovered these 7 steps to success sooner!

Motivation is the driving force of life, without it you go nowhere and stay there, but with it you can go absolutely anywhere that you want to go. Believe in the impossible and it will eventually become possible, there is a great passage in Lewis Carroll’s `Alice In Wonderland’ that reads….

“There is no use in trying,” said Alice; “One can’t believe impossible things. I dare say you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Brilliant. Take one steps a day and in a week you will be further down the path to success than you ever thought possible. Give it a try, you deserve it.

Step 6 - Keep on Experiencing New Things

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 by Debra Oakland

Experiencing new things gets you excited and continually doing so gives you a thrill every time, bringing the motivation with it to be a success at everything you try. It does not need to be a huge accomplishment, there are plenty of things as simple as learning to play a musical instrument, trying a new restaurant, anything that generates good feelings deep down inside of you will do.

Combined with the other 6 steps to successful motivation, trying out new things will sharpen your senses, increase your knowledge and desires. As you become successful at doing this on a regular basis, you will motivate yourself to experience the great feelings you gift yourself on a continual basis.

Personally I use hypnotic images to stimulate and motivate me to get on out there and do new things. Hey, I might not be able to buy a brand new sports car but there is nothing stopping me going to the car showrooms and taking a test drive. That way I am living the experience, I am feeling what the car feels like, I smell that new car smell, I feel what it’s like to run my hand over its sleek curves.
So get out there and experience something new as often as you can, feel what its like to taste, feel and smell what its like, soak up the emotions that come with the experience and your motivation will soar to new heights.

Step 5 - Get Results

Friday, July 11th, 2008 by Debra Oakland

Getting results leads to more motivation being created within you, getting results makes you feel good about yourself, so the more results you can achieve along the path to your success the more successful you will be.

A good way to get plenty of results is to set yourself loads of achievable small targets which when achieved will lead you to your big goal. It’s like someone trying to loose weight, a lot of small weight loss targets will achieve the end result far better than aiming directly at your main goal. Each time that you reach one of the small goals you will feel good about yourself and that will give you the drive and motivation to carry on.

This way you keep telling yourself that you are on the right road to success, it becomes hypnotic. Hypnosis after all is only a method of feeding your brain with positive, motivational food, so the more you feed it - well I don’t think I need tell you what happens do I? OK, I will tell you anyway. By feeding hypnotic food to your subconscious it begins to believe that what you are telling it is true, after all it is isn’t it? When your subconscious believes in what you are feeding it, you become, feel and behave that way. So the more you feed it the better you feel, the more success you have, and the more motivated you become.

Getting results is great natural food for the brain, but don’t be afraid of failure, after all it’s still a result. Turn the failure on it’s head and call it a success. By being positive about a set back you will be motivated into not experiencing that same failure again and move on to further success.

Step 2 - Be Passionate

Thursday, June 26th, 2008 by Debra Oakland

Being passionate about what ever it is you want to do or achieve will ultimately lead to motivation and a successful outcome. Having a burning desire to do something and to do it to the best of you ability will give you the motivation you need to be successful at it.
But how do you know what it is you want to really be and do?
Ask your self the following questions and you will give yourself the answer.

• If you had financial freedom how would you spend the rest of your life?
• If you only did work that really motivated you and filled your life with joy what work would that be?
• If every job in the whole world was equally paid what job would you choose?
• If you had just 6 months to live what would you change in your life to enjoy your remaining days?

There are more questions you could ask but I think these will do for now to get you thinking about what it is you really want to do and could get motivated enough to be successful at. The way I keep my self focused and motivated to achieve my life’s ambitions is to use hypnotic sessions where I visualize myself achieving and doing all of the things I desire to be and do.

By turning your dreams into hypnotic suggestions you can heighten your desire, increase your motivation and drive up your chances of being successful. Passion is a motivating emotion that drives you to achieve your greatest desires, you know I am sure how great it is to feel passionately about something, and wouldn’t it be great to be able to hang onto that feeling for the rest of your life?
So find what it is you really want to do and who you really want to be, get focussed upon it, get passionate about it and the motivation will come naturally.

Step 1 Giving Away – To Receive Motivation

Saturday, June 21st, 2008 by Debra Oakland

We are forever being told that we shouldn’t give to receive – Why Not!

In an article by my Hypnosis mentor, Adam Eason, he says that Steve Chandler writes in his book ‘101 Ways To Motivate Yourself’ that to “give away some power” is an exceptional method for producing motivation. He continues by quoting Steve again, “Motivate yourself by giving someone else the ideas necessary for self-motivation” and “You can have any experience you want in life simply by giving that experience away to someone else.”

That’s why when people ask me, Steve, why are you always helping and giving yourself away to others? I say “Simple, it makes me feel good and when I feel good that feeling fills me with motivation and the more motivated I feel the more I want to give.” This article is a prime example of what I mean. Why should I bother to sit down at my laptop and write articles and take the time to submit them to article sites and share information with you? Because it makes me feel good and the more I feel good, that’s right, the more motivated I become and the more successful I become at writing articles and the more I want to share/give away.

You know I am sure that you know just how good it feels when you give someone something, whether it is a physical thing like a present on their birthday, or a mental gift of sharing an idea or giving some useful advice or information. You get the feel good factor, a warm feeling inside of you that makes you glow – that’s the motivation, and if you take that feeling and build on it you can turn it into a hypnotic feeling which you can turn on at any time you wish.

Now, that’s a powerful tool to be able to carry around with you. Being able to feel motivated whenever you want to. Just by using this one step and combining it with the power of hypnosis you will have all the motivation you need to move on to the next 6 steps for even more success.

So the lesson here is to give, give and then to give some more and your motivation scorecard will soar to heights you never thought possible.
