Hey Deb,
I loved this video of the opening of the 2008 Olympics. I had a friend who had suggested the possibility of boycotting watching the Olympics do to the the various political and illegal drug issues that cloud this most important world gathering. I thought you might like to read my resposnse. I hope it gives your readers the courage to support the foundation of world peace, world participation and world commitment to excellence for all.
“There are going to be MANY people that are corrupted by their countries intentions and the possibility of winning in order to build better lives for themselves and their families and with their gift make choices that are illegal. BUT there are many around the world who exude and believe in the fundamental principal that the olympics were founded which was fair and honest competition for best of the best in their chosen sport. It is that fundamental beginnning and history that I celebrate. I celebrate the idea of everyone around the world coming together for a common goal of passion, skill, presision and success in training to be the best that one can be in the sport of their choosing. I prefer to believe in what can happen when love and positive energy is put forth for that is what should be great. Ultimately if everyone joins in the negative can be eliminated and defeated!”
Congratulations to all the world atheletes who dedicate themselves with courage to being the best that they can be!
Love Nicole
