In A New Earth, Tolle expands powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.

I received an email about Jeff Guidry and his Eagle Freedom. I loved what I read so much that I searched google. This photo is beautiful. I wanted to share this story with you, as it is inspirational, profound and healing.
Jeff Guidry and Freedom are at the Sarvey Wildlife Center.
As of 2008, according to sources, Jeff Guidry and Freedom have been together since 1998 (when she came in with broken wings and near death).
Jeff Guidry and Freedom’s story can be read in an article written by Jeff Guidry . The name of his article is The Circle of Healing.

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were
the present “Seven Wonders of the World.” Though there were
some disagreements, the following received the most votes:
1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall
While gathering the votes, the teacher noticed that one
quiet student hadn’t turned in her paper yet. So she asked
the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl
replied, “Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind
because there were so many.”
The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we
can help.”
The girl hesitated, then read, “I think the ‘Seven Wonders
of the World ” are:
1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love.”

Here I go thinking again! I ask questions, so bear with me. What if we let go of everything that tires us? Everything that wants to spoil the dream. Let go of all the times we have allowed ourselves to be a victim or tyrant (use any word - pain in the butt could work), so that we are emptied. This could allow some great energy to flow through without any interruption. Think about it and get back to me. Have fun storming the castle.

As I lay in the sun today contemplating my navel and trying to be very attentive to the present moment, a thought occurred to me. People always say “just be yourself” to other people. Who are we and do we know who we are in the mix of all the influences throughout our life to date. Most of us assume a posture or a presence in various situations with people, as they each have different expectations of who we are or should be according to how they see us through their eyes. Do you know who you are? This is a question that makes you go hmmmmmm very interesting. What if we all quit labeling ourselves and others………..just imagine……..hmmmmmmm. I like it.

Maximize the power of your brain by using Tony Buzan’s Mind Mapping, which is fun, colorful and straightforward. This is a genius tool. Tony says that Beethoven, Leonardo De Vinci, Darwin and all the great minds used image association such as this. Mind Mapping is a thinking tool that reflects internally what is going on in the brain. People who use color, according to London University, do better in life. Tony uses key phrases and images which assist in finding solutions and coming up with brilliant ideas.

I was thinking about ways to examine courage. Below are a few simple things that come to mind.
Learning new skills
Be authentic, just be yourself
Listening - Being Still and Present
Look into the eyes of a small child
Taking a walk in nature
Be grateful
Think of people who inspire you. One of mine is Oprah Winfrey
Play hard
Through an awesome, mind blowing quote
Smiling at and starting a conversation with a stranger
Making the decision to have a great day and letting nothing stand in the way
Start something new, something you are passionate about
Get really clear on what you want in life

Have you ever been in one of your favorite restaurants, happily munching, when you hear a loud voice incessantly talking negative about other people? Today was that day. I should have moved, but I did not notice “the voice” until my food was delivered. I must have heard the word “narcissist” 25 times, loudly repeated in the course of one conversation. Everyone this person talked about had a problem and this person had all the answers. I almost fell to the ground in gratitude that I have been reading Eckhart Tolle’s new book “A New Earth”, as it saved me from wanting to turn around and scream “are you freaking kidding me with this crap”. I took a big breath, noticing a woman at the next table having similar thoughts. After I tried singing along to the song being played in the restaurant and sticking my fingers in my ears, I stopped myself, quit judging, labeling or placing any importance on this person. I know better. I realize that people come across our path and are brought to our attention for a reason. What we do with it, is entirely up to us. I decided to ask for the highest and greatest good for this person, blessed them, and went on chewing fast, leaving as soon as possible.
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle could not have arrived on the scene at a more perfect time. I applaud Oprah in presenting this book and the author, every Monday night on her website for 10 weeks. This is the world’s largest online classroom of around 700,000 people and over 1.5 million listening to the link after the Monday classes. If you are interested in the planet earth, all relationships, finances, physical health, mental health and happiness, politics, any belief system of any kind, this is the book for you. Most of the people I know are reading it or participating in the online classroom. What is great, is if you miss the Monday night class, you can go to www.oprah.com and listen to the whole class the next day. I love seeing people from all over the world involved.

Now this is courage on fire. I can only imagine, like the song says. What a vision of mutual love and respect.
